About Ronnie
Governor Ronnie Musgrove is the 62nd Governor of Mississippi and a nationally recognized leader in public policy, education, healthcare, and economic development. During his tenure as governor, he led a $10 billion state budget, championed the largest teacher pay raise in Mississippi history, expanded children's health insurance coverage from fewer than 1,000 to more than 60,000 children, and helped secure the Nissan manufacturing plant—the state's largest economic development project.
Prior to serving as governor, Musgrove served as Mississippi's Lieutenant Governor and State Senator, where he authored and advanced landmark education legislation, including the Mississippi Adequate Education Program. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for bipartisan leadership, consensus building, and strategic policymaking.
Following his time in public office, Governor Musgrove has remained active in law, public policy, higher education, and healthcare, serving in leadership roles with national organizations including the National Governors Association, the National Assessment Governing Board, the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is currently a partner at Musgrove, Whitwell & Humphreys, PLLC in with offices in Oxford and Madison Mississippi.
